Predicted 21 aa signal peptide is consistent with an observed secB-dependent precursor cleavage that is blocked by azide (Marani, 2006). Putative ytfMNP operon. yftM added as synonym as a common mispelling. ytfM and bamA are paralogs. Null ytfM mutants do not have OM composition or integrity defects, but they do grow slowly (Stegmeier, 2007).[4]
