Notes

This is a placeholder for a summary statement about how transcription of this gene is regulated. You can help EcoliWiki by becoming a user and writing/editing this statement.

Overproduction of FtsA causes long non-septate filaments to form and inhibits normal cell septation. [4]

Overproduction does block division but transcription from cloned fts promoters is not further repressed. [5]

RcsB effects the efficiency of the transcription of ftsA1p. Specifically, causing it too increase in efficiency as more of RcsB is added. [6]
