Notes
Daegelen et al. [1] have traced the ancestry of E. coli B strains back to the early phage work of D'Herrelle. E. coli B strains prior to those used by Luria, Delbruck and the Phage groups of the 1940s are not available in existing strain repositories. E. coli B wildtype in the CGSC collection refers to a Luria strain obtained from R. Hill.
