This Category is the top level node for E. coli strain genealogy/phylogeny pages. These pages are organized where there is a strains have pages in the Category namespace with page titles in the format:
Category:Strain:Strain name
For example
Category:Strain:E. coli K-12
This places nodes in the tree as subcategory pages, such that each strain is a subcategory of its immediate parent(s), and each strain may have subcategory pages for strains derived from it. By clicking the + next to a derivative, you can expand the genealogy tree.
Each strain page also has a redirect page in the main namespace. These will be listed as members of appropriate categories. All stains should be listed as members of Category:Strains
