Notes
MltA cleaves the glycosidic bonds between the N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine residues in murein. Unlike Slt and MltB, MltA can use peptide-free glycan as substrate. First 20 aa are a type II signal peptide. MltA forms a complex with MrcB and MipA.[4]
