Notes
rplY is a non-essential gene as judged by the ability to recombineer haploid deletions (Baba, 2006; Korepanov, 2006). Mutants lacking RplY grow slowly and have reduced protein synthesis, possibly due to a problem with ribosome recycling (Korepanov, 2006).[4]
