Notes
This vector allows easy detection and accurate quantitation of very weak transcriptional and translational signals due to its low levels of bacground lac gene expression [1]. Plasmid backbone consists of the ori, bla, and distal portion of the tet genes of pBR322 [2] [3] .
History
This vector was developed for the construction of protein fusions to the E.coli lacZ gene [1].
