EMBOSS is a the European Molecular Biology Open Software Suite. EMBOSS tools are designed to be used to create bioinformatics pipelines.
EMBOSS components can be divided into groups. Some of the ones we use are listed below.
Several tools are used to format nucleic acid or protein sequences for display
Links to sites that run the software or where it can be obtained
EMBOSS is available in online versions from a variety of EMBOSS servers. EMBOSS tools are also available as part of the Galaxy workbench site.
EMBOSS can also be installed locally on Unix/Linux systems.
