Notes
ThiG synthesizes the thiazole phosphate intermediate (4-methyl-5-beta-hydroxyethyl thiazole phosphate) in thiamine biosynthesis utilizing dehyrodglycine (derived from tyrosine by ThiH in the ThiGH complex), DXP (1-deoxyxylulose 5-phosphate), S-adenosylmethionine (SAM/AdoMet) and the sulfur donor ThiFS thiocarboxylate Kriek, 2007). Aldolase family.[4]
