Notes
pKLAC1 can be used for secreted protein expression or intracellular protein expression. A standard DNA purification procedure is used to derive pKLAC1 from E. coli strain ER2268. LAC4 promoter is not expressed in E. coli. Toxic genes can be cloned before their expression in yeast.
History
pKLAC1 was designed as an expression vector that can replicate in E.coli and capable of stable integration in to the genome of the yeast K.lactis [2].
