Notes

pGEM-3Zf(-) contains phage f1 origin of replication. Within the α-peptide coding region of β-galactosidase is included a multiple cloning site enclosed by T7 and SP6 RNA polymerase promoters on either side. Inactivation of the α-peptide through insertion allows for the simple blue/white color screening for recombinant clones. This vector can be used for standard cloning, ssDNA production, and in vitro transcription from the SP6 and T7 RNA polymerase promoters. pGEM-3Zf(-) differs from pGEM-3Zf(+) in f1 origin orientation.
