Notes
Using the Champion pET Expression System results in the highest possible protien yiels in E. coli. To produce yields two to tenfolds greater than any other expression system one must combine the Champion pET Expression Vectors with BL21 Star E. coli. With the fast and efficient TOPO Cloning Technology or a simple Gateway recombination reaction one can directionally clone a gene of choice into the champion pET vectors.
Other useful features in the pET 161/GW/D-TOPO is the T7 lac promoter for inducible , high-level expression in bacteria, Lumio tag for in-gel protection, 6xHis tag for rapid protien purification, and TEV cleavage sites for efficient removal of the Lumio tag following purification. The Champion pET Expression System produces proteins for functional protein analysis, antibody production, X-ray crystallography, and bioproduction.
