Notes

The IspG substrate is 2C-methyl-d-erythritol 2,4-cyclodiphosphate. In vitro activity requires auxiliary protein(s), probably as shuttles for redox equivalents. E. coli ispG(gcpE) complements the P. stuartii aarC1 defect in quorum sensing regulation of gene expression. The ispG gene is essential.[4]
