Notes

GlmS synthesis s negatively feedback regulated by glucosamine-6-phosphate, which probably causes YhbJ to cleave and inactivate the GlmZ sRNA; GlmZ upregulates glmS mRNA post-translationally (Kalamorz, 2007). THe GlmY sRNA also regulates glmS post-transcriptionally (Urban, 2007). GlmS can be inactivated by various halomethyl and methyl ketone derivatives, of which bromomethyl ketone derivative is most effective because of its high binding affinity.[4]
