Why NuoC shouldn't be annotated to the cytoplasm.
The NADH dehydrogenase I complex is intrinsic to the cytoplasmic membrane. Following purification of the entire complex in detergent, the complex can be separated into 3 fragments by using the appropriate conditions of salt, pH, and type of detergent. The amphipathic, connecting fragment contains subunits NuoB, NuoC, and NuoI.
