The ProScan tool allows for the quick and easy searching of protein sequences for a particular motif. The user provides a motif in the valid syntax and selects a file to search against, and the tool returns the matching sequences. EcoliWiki ProScan uses a local copy of the ps_scan program obtained from Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.

The results show the number of hits to genes in E. coli. Also, you can click on the gene names in the results to take you to the sequence information in Ecoliwiki.
