How to customize appearance by setting the Appearance preference

Registered users can alter the overall appearance of EcoliWiki by changing their Preferences. Users who are not logged in will get the Porteco skin by default.

Before June 1, 2013 the Vector skin was the default for EcoliWiki, and it is still the default for [http;//gowiki.tamu.edu GONUTS]. If you are logged in and you are not seeing the new PortEco skin, you probably have a different skin set in your preferences.

Unregistered users can see what a page looks like with a different skin by adding

?useskin=<''lowercase name of skin''>

to the url of a page.

Available skins

The skins listed below are installed for EcoliWiki. Many custom skins have been made for Mediawiki. If you need one for some reason, contact us (ecoliwiki@gmail.com) and we can try to install it for you. <protect>

Porteco (default as of June 1, 2013)

Porteco is a custom skin made for EcoliWiki. Future development for this project will be done using Porteco. The Porteco skin provides the common Porteco banner, and navigation links. As of June 1, 2013, the search box in Porteco doesn't work quite as well as the search box in Vector; the option to search for pages containing a string is missing.
