Charles E. Clifton

Charles E. Clifton is probably the first scientist to publish work on Escherichia coli K-12 in the 20th century.[1] The earliest of Clifton's papers on E. coli K-12 that is listed in PubMed reports the oxidation-reduction potentials of stationary phase and continuous flow cultures of E. coli grown in peptone .[2]
