About
Description (originally from EcoCyc[1][2]) galETKM
Regulation of galETKM has been characterized as an incoherent feed-forward loop[3].
Repression by GalR and GalS
Gal regulon genes, including those in the galETKM operon are regulated by galR, the Gal repressor, and galS, the Gal isorepressor[4][5]. Repression at the galETKM promoter involves formation of a repressosome containing GalR dimers bound to two operator sites flanking the promoter region[6].
Activation by CAP-cAMP
Other
(originally from EcoCyc[1][2]) Rob is a transcriptional regulator related with the increase in resistance to antibiotics and is expressed constitutively. Bennik et al have shown that this regulator represses the transcription of galT gene and that it forms multiple complexes in the promoter region, suggesting the existence of multiple Rob binding sites |CITS [ 10850996 ]|.
