About
Description (originally from EcoCyc[1]) methylcitrate synthase
Comments (originally from EcoCyc[1]) The prpC-encoded protein is a methylcitrate synthase with citrate synthase activity as a minor component. The enzyme is distinct from the gltA-encoded citrate synthase. Methylcitrate synthase is induced during growth on propionate and catalyzes a reaction in propionate metabolism via the methylcitrate cycle. [2][3][4][5]
