About
Description (originally from EcoCyc[1][2]) EnvZ
Comments (originally from EcoCyc[1][2]) The EnvZ protein can exist in two alternative conformational states, a high osmolarity form and a low osmolarity form. In the high osmolarity form EnvZ actively autophosphorylates and transfers the phosphoryl group to OmpR. In the low osmolarity form EnvZ exhibits a lower kinase activity but its stimulation of OmpR dephosphorylation is increased. [3][4]
