About
We use tables to organize information in EcoliWiki. It's possible to use Wiki mark-up to make tables, but it isn't easy. So the EcoliWiki team has written a TableEditor extension to make it much easier to create new tables and edit existing ones.
Create a new table
To make a new table use the following mark-up: <newTableEdit> Heading 1 Heading 2 Heading 3 </newTableEdit>
When you save your entry, a Create table here link will appear on the page. Click on this link and an editable version of the table will appear as shown in the picture below.
To add information to the table, click on the Add data button and text boxes will appear for data entry.
The default table format is horizontal (headings running from L to R across the top of the table). If you want a vertical table (headings running from Top to Bottom in the first column of the table), you can rotate the table after you have created it.
