GadE overexpression confers acid resistance. GadE is induced by YdeO overexpression. GadE is in the EvgAS regulon. GadE is a LuxR family regulator. GadE is possibly involved in the regulation of type III secretion systems in enterohemorrhagic E. coli O157:H7. Required for stationary phase-induced, pH 5.5 growth medium-induced, and EvgA-induced acid resistance[4]
