Notes
EbgC is a distant homolog of YiaL, YhcH and YjgK; all four match pfam PF04074. otherPDB (H. influenzae): 1JOP, 1S4C. The H. influenzae structures reveals a likely active site, proposed to be a copper-dependent sugar isomerase. Although homologous to the beta subunit of the EbgAC evolved beta-galactosidase, no potential EbgA-like alpha subunit partners are apparent.[4]
