About

Description (originally from EcoCyc[1][2]) 1-phosphofructokinase

Comments (originally from EcoCyc[1][2]) The enzyme is highly specific for fructose-1-phosphate. ATP and GTP are the best phosphoryl donors, whereas UTP and CTP only showed a weak effect. The enzyme is reversibly inhibited by fructose-1,6-diphosphate and ADP, and irreversibly by phenylmethanesulfonyl fluoride.
